Over 50 guests joined host Feldman Ruel for a special afternoon of excellent food, drinks, games and steeplechase racing at a private rail-side tent for the 100th running of the Virginia Gold Cup on May 3, 2025, at Great Meadow in Virginia. This event is a time-honored tradition of steeplechase horse racing, where horses and jockeys proceed through a variety of gates with jumps, sometimes over water, on a large grassy field.
We are grateful for the efforts of CCF Board member Christopher Chadwick and Feldman Ruel. Gold Sponsors for the event were Boundary Stone Capital, Forbright Bank, and Giant Food. Without their support, the day would not have been possible. The commitment from local businesses enables critical research to continue and assures better outcomes and treatments for young cancer patients.
Other CCF Board members present were Board Chairman Jerry Chadwick, Karen Fernandez, and Secretary Terry McGowan. We are grateful that they were there to support the event as well as help whenever needed.
CCF also extends its appreciation to the two catering companies who provided many delicious appetizers, lunch, and dessert options – Tarbender’s Lounge and The Polished Foxx. We also kindly thank board members Christine Golnoski and Cyndi Ireland for arranging donations of Pepsi products and Just Ice Tea, respectively.
